With 25 years of experience in the federal government, Elyse brings an extraordinary depth of knowledge to the field of Social Security disability law. Having served as an Attorney Adviser for the Social Security Administration and as a Career Law Clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, she has spent her career examining disability claims from the inside. In 2025, Elyse took that invaluable experience and established her own law practice, where she now advocates for individuals seeking the disability benefits they deserve. We look forward to learning more about her journey, her practice, and the unique perspective she brings to helping her clients navigate a complex system.

A former competitive figure skater and lifelong athlete, Ann’s own experience with serious injury inspired her to pursue a career in physical therapy. After earning degrees in neuroscience and physical therapy in Canada and gaining years of clinical experience in both Ontario and New York City, she recognized that the traditional high-volume model often left patients without the attention they truly needed.

In 2023, she founded Graphene Physical Therapy to provide one-on-one, personalized treatment designed to help active individuals recover from injury, prevent future problems, and return to the activities they love.

I’m pleased to introduce our presenter, Melinda Pearson, owner of Life Care Plan NY.

Melinda is a Licensed Master Social Worker and a board-certified Life Care Planner with more than 23 years of experience helping individuals with disabilities and catastrophic injuries. She works closely with attorneys, providing Life Care Plans and Medical Cost Projections that help ensure clients’ long-term medical and support needs are accurately documented and understood.

Her work combines clinical expertise with compassion, drawing on decades of experience in counseling, case management, positive behavior interventions, and independent living skills training. It is specialized work that plays an important role in helping people receive the care and resources they need throughout their lives.

At our last meeting, we had the opportunity to hear from Renée Marino about communication — not just speaking, but truly connecting, sharing, and being heard. It got me thinking… how often do we, especially as businesswomen, openly share what we really want for ourselves and our businesses?

For our upcoming meeting, we are going to keep the conversation going — but this time, the conversation is ours.

There will be no formal speaker or presentation. Instead, we invite each member to share a private wish, goal, or vision they have for their business or professional future. Maybe it is something practical, maybe something ambitious, or maybe even something that feels a little impossible right now.

For example, one of my dreams would be to see theNYnetwork one day own a building in Manhattan — a true home base for women in business. A space with offices, coworking opportunities, a coffee shop, vendor spaces for members, and a community hub where women could collaborate, support one another, and grow together.

This meeting is about vision, vulnerability, inspiration, and connection. Sometimes saying something out loud is the first step toward making it real.

We hope you will join us and share your dream with the group.
