Avissa Mojtahedi is the founder and principal designer of Avissa Design Group, an interior design studio. Trained in architecture and raised in Toronto, she brings more than 20 years of experience to luxury residential, hospitality, and retail spaces across New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, and beyond.
Her approach starts with architecture. She looks at how a space is built, how light moves through it, and how proportion shapes the way it feels. Within that framework, she layers in sculptural elements and carefully considered details, so each room has presence, depth, and a point of view.
The result is elegant, layered, and rich in color and texture, and never cookie-cutter. Just as important, it’s approachable and made for real life. Her homes are designed to work for a family’s day-to-day, so beautiful spaces are also comfortable, practical, and easy to live in. Every project is shaped around the people who will live in it, so it feels personal, one-of-a-kind, and truly livable.
Avissa has worked on many on- and off-air shows with HGTV, and has served as an on-air design specialist and a brand ambassador within the design industry. Outside of work, she enjoys playing golf and spending time with her family, friends, and nieces.
